George Tom Hardy of Rencontre East passed peacefully away at his home on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at the age of 91.

George Tom leaves to mourn his loving family: sons, Ray (Grace) and Jim (Lisa); daughters, Doris, Dora Dyke (Bert) and Pam; eight grandchildren and his treasured great grandchildren; special caregivers, Kaitlyn and Tina; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his wife, Ada, and daughter, Sue.

From an early age, George Tom enjoyed his time on the water and in the woods. In later years he enjoyed recalling those days with friends and family. He was a hard working man, who always provided for his family. He worked at Rencontre East Mine during its active years and lobster fishing was his absolute favourite. He will be dearly missed but always remembered by those who loved him.

Funeral Service took place at St. Stephen's Anglican Church at Rencontre East on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 11:00 am. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Rencontre East.
