Obituary for
William Gerald "Bill" Sullivan
It is with great sadness we announce that William (Bill) Gerald Sullivan, age 57, of Harbour Breton passed away suddenly on June 10, 2019. Second oldest born to Gerald and Margaret Sullivan in St. Georges, NL. He married the love of his life Cathy (Augot) Sullivan on November 22, 1991.
At age 4, Bill and his family moved to Harbour Breton, where at 23 years old, he met the love of his life and started his loving family with 2 sons and beautiful daughter. While raising his family, he spent decades working on fishing trawlers. After retiring from the boats, Bill worked hard helping build up his community and surrounding areas. Bill always worked his hardest to provide for his family and was able to give them the best life possible. His family has always depended on him heavily for help, and he was always willing to do whatever he could to help someone out. Jack of all trades - carpenter, mechanic, fisherman, hunter, and more - but master of none, as he would say. Bill was always the life of the party, with an unreal ability to make people laugh. His most coveted times were when his entire family was reunited and bonding over his favourite room temperature drink and a game of darts or cricket.
Bill was predeceased by parents, Gerald and Margaret (McDonald) Sullivan; sister, Roxanne; brother, Craig; father-in-law, James Augot; brothers-in-law, Martin Corcoran, and John McDonald.
He was survived by his loving wife, Cathy (Augot) Sullivan; treasured children, Wendy Sullivan, Matthew Augot (Malerie Earle), Stephanie Augot (Joshua Snook), and Lucas Sullivan (Selina Stoyles); his cherished grandchildren, James Augot, Destiny Augot-Snook, Hayden Snook, Mya Sullivan, Leyland Okelarin and Devon Stoyles; siblings, Jenny Dollimont (Arthur), John Sullivan (Tina), Joe Sullivan, and Ernie Sullivan (Yvonne); mother-in-law, Susan Augot; brothers-in-law, Gerard Augot (Loretta), Aloysius Augot (Sonia), Roger Augot, James Augot (Patsy) and Tyson Augot; sisters-in-law, Daphne Mcdonald, Ursula Augot-Corcoran, Marguerite Augot (Dave), Wanda Farrell (Martin) and Jennifer Augot; as well as a large circle of family and friends.
He may have lived a short life, but it was full of adventure, dedicated work, get togethers, and his families love. He has had a great impact on many people, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation took place on Thursday, June 13 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm; Friday, June 14, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Funeral Service was held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 1:00 pm from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church at Harbour Breton with Father David Joy officiating. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Breton.
