Life Story for Mary Alice Augot
In Loving Memory
Mary was born to Violet and John Joe Clark on August 11, 1929 in English Harbour East. At a young age Mary moved to Harbour Breton to work for Pius and Lena Augot as a serving girl. It was there she met and married Philip Augot in 1948.
Together they had a large family of ten children. During her life Mary faced many challenges from raising her children while Philip was away working, to uprooting her family and moving to St. John’s while her husband was ill. During this time her door was always open to family and strangers who needed a place to stay in St. John’s. Many a laugh and card game took place during these large family gatherings.
Mary is remembered for her selfless giving of her time and possessions to any and all who were in need. She put her family first, always being the last person to eat when her family gathered for her delicious meals.
Our Family wishes to express our sincere gratitude and thanks to all who visited, called and sent well wishes during this difficult time.
